Variations, Don’t forget your umbrella!
I’ve been pretty busy lately. Up until last month Nomura-san and I were in the recording studio with my new piece Past Lives which has been relegated to the back-burner for the time being. I wrote a short guitar duet “Variations” as a wedding present for some friends and a guitar quartet “don’t forget your umbrella!” just for fun. Don’t forget your umbrella is based on a Peruvian folk-song “La lluvia” or “Cloudburst.” Both pieces will receive their premiere on May the 5th in Nagoya. The weather here in Nagoya has finally become more spring like and now maybe I can start waking up earlier to write.
I’ve also started working on a piece for orchestra called “The sea called while you were gone”
